Alpacas
Dapper & Victor We began Alpaca farming with our first two boys in June 2002 (see Home Page for a photo). In December 2003 we acquired three more (2 females and a male). In September 06 we acquired another male. These alpacas are our first livestock (other than house pets) - we were already growing Lavender.

Lavender
Lavender ready for harvest Before alpacas, we started planting lavender and now have over sixty plants in our garden. We have mostly "Grosso" (which is of course purple), but also some pink and some white. Each July, we harvest and dry the stalks. Having lavender is a great complement to a Fiber Mill, since it is a natural moth repellant. We have made lavender wands, sachets, and heat pads. The lavender moved with us to Oregon and now is planted in the front yard. So we will still have lavender.
